This is good because it allows you to spend your crypto anywhere VISA is accepted, instead of relying on vendors accepting specific cryptos personally. It technically counts as adoption, potentially on a global scale.
However, this is also pointless in the long term. The idea of crypto is that we can remove the need to run through a central payment validator. You are still relying on VISA to make the payment. What point is there for Monaco VISA cards in a time where everyone is using specific cryptos directly? That time might be 5 or even 10 years away, but it’s something we are working towards.
I’d say it’s a good short term move, but I don’t see any long-term value in such a project. Maybe I’m missing something, so any Monaco fans please do let me know.
