Moet Hennessy has unveiled a new ad for its Hennessy XO Cognac iteration, directed by Oscar winner Ridley Scott.
Scott, who cut his directorial teeth shooting adverts before helming movies including Alien and Blade Runner, has created the short film ‘The Seven Worlds’ for the Hennessy brand. A 60-second version of the film will premiere in the US during the Academy Awards ceremony on 24 February.
Moet Hennessy announced the partnership with Scott and his RSA production company in September last year. Financial details have not been disclosed. Moet Hennessy said the director, who also made Gladiator and The Martian, has created “an epic visual journey”, using a “surreal, sensory narrative”.
“It is an honour for Hennessy to partner with a visionary like Ridley Scott,” Hennessy global CMO Michael Aidan said. “This film showcases Ridley’s artistic genius conveying the essence of Hennessy XO through entertainment that transcends traditional advertising.”
