Grant’s Distinction will initially be exclusively available in India, William Grant said
William Grant & Sons has launched a new Grant’s Scotch whisky that initially will only be available in India.
Grant’s Distinction has been created for a “new generation” of Scotch whisky consumers, William Grant said today. The blended Scotch targets the mixer occasion and is described as having a flavour profile of “raisin cake richness”.
The expression has just been launched in the Indian state of Goa ahead of Diwali, which this year lands on 7 November. The INR1,275-priced (US$17.50) Distinction will then roll out to the rest of India.
The group did not disclose details of a wider launch, but said the Grant’s iteration will “initially be exclusively available in India”.
William Grant also did not immediately confirm if Grant’s Distinction will be bottled in India. Earlier this year, the company revealed it will bottle Grant’s in India as part of the company’s first production venture in the country.
“We see a clear opportunity to bring in new brands targeted at the next generation of Scotch drinkers, those who are already making progress in their careers but still appreciate the fact that it is those around them who keep them grounded and real,” said James Pennefather, MD of William Grant India.
