A listing on the Microsoft Store (via PSLS) has confirmed that Resident Evil 2 will weigh in at a not-exactly-massive 21.07GB on Xbox One. Presumably the PlayStation 4 version is going to clock in at around the same size.
Considering the size of a lot of triple-A games this year (Red Dead Redemption 2 was a bit of a hard pill to swallow), Resi 2’s comparatively modest 21GB is probably a relief for those of you who are pushing the limit of their hard drives.
It probably would have been a different story if Capcom had plumped for the A and B scenarios into the mix, though.
Resident Evil 2 is scheduled for release on January 25, 2019 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
The game is a full remake of the 1998 survival horror classic, only this time it ditches the pre-rendered backgrounds in favour of 3D environments and a new over-the-shoulder perspective. Leon and Claire return as playable characters, although there’s plenty of new content thrown into the mix.
Capcom has previously said that it would be an ‘interesting‘ move to revamp previous Resi titles that used a fixed camera angle. Here’s hoping Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is next in line, eh?
