During a panel at PAX East, the titular PlayerUnknown himself Brendan Greene confirmed that PUBG’s second map will be coming to Xbox One next month.
The desert map Miramar has been available on PC since December, with the team working hard to get it ported to the Xbox One version, which is following a different content and balance roadmap. While the PC version launched into 1.0 and out of early access with the release of Miramar, it’s not clear if the map heralds the same thing on Xbox One.
The rest of the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds panel was a celebrity-filled match of the game with electronic-musician and apparently PUBG superfan deadmau5 sitting with Greene and Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb talking about and playing the game. Hyrb lent his account to deadmau5 as the artist explained his love for the game.
“I actually have a ton of chicken dinners,” he said. “My own tag is deadmau5 with an underscore in the front because deadmau5 was already taken.”
The Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds also released in December last year.
Miramar is arriving on Xbox One far faster than I expected and I wonder if they’re trying to get the two roadmaps aligned even if they’re not identical.
