Brave CF 13 is now in the books and what an event it was, the card was full of talent from top to bottom, including wins for Norman Parke and Stephen Loman.
Brave CF 13 is now in the books and what an event it was, the card had fights of all sorts ranging from successful amateurs making their debut to established fighters looking to push their way into title contention. Many stars were in attendance on the night, including Darren Till, Conor McGregor, Brett Johns and Amir Khan.
In what was arguably fight of the night Cian Cowley and Daniel Olejniczak had one round war to kick off the main card. Olejniczak caught Cowley early and nearly had him out in the first round. After surviving the onslaught, Cowley came back and outstruck his opponent, only to land a huge knee to end the fight near the end of the first round.
IMMAF veterans Aidan James, Sam Slater and Benjamin Bennett came out successful in their bouts. James went up a weight class to get the nod over the highly touted Tommy Martin. Slater put on an amazing performance against Piotr Tokarski to take home a unanimous decision victory. Bennet won the IMMAF 2017 world championships and made his pro debut tonight. The Alaskan put on an exceptional first fight. He left with a TKO victory following his opponent being unable to continue after round 1.
Amoussu and Cavalheiro were up just before the two headline fights. The fight started off slow, both men rarely engaging. The second round was much more explosive, to begin with, both men came out throwing much more strikes. Former Bellator title challenger Amoussu then absorbed a huge shot to the nuts from his opponent. After taking some time out to recover, Amoussu felt ready to resume fighting. Once action resumed both men met in the centre, the first shot thrown proved vital as Cavalherio once again struck low. The referee failed to step in on this occasion and Cavalheiro took advantage. Landing some massive shots to knock Amoussu out and get the win.
The co-main event between TUF Smashes winner Norman Parke and Myles Price was a very technical fight. Parke utilised his judo and wrestling ability to control the fight in the clinch and on top when the fight went to the mat. Price exposed some holes in Parke’s striking, catching him on numerous occasions. Price fought hard on the ground, he had some slick transitions against Parker but it wasn’t enough to win over the judges. Parke’s control and constant pressure was enough to get the nod from the judges.
In the main event of the evening, Frans Mlambo challenged Stephen Loman for the bantamweight championship. Mlambo dropped his opponent in the first round and it looked as if he was going to get the finish. Loman fought back hard and grinded out in and in the third round nearly got the finish himself via ground and pound. Mlambo looked to have got himself back into the fight in the fourth round. Unfortunately for the former IMMAF world champion he was unable to put something together and lost to a decision.
