Olympic skier Bode Miller’s toddler daughter drowns in Orange County pool : sports

My condolences to the family, losing a child is an awful thing that nobody should have to experience. It goes without saying – please watch your children like hawks when they are around water, they can just as easily drown in a kiddie pool as a swimming pool, even when they know how to swim. Putting a barrier around the pool is just good practice – as are swimming lessons (preferably as early as you can start them). Usually around 2 years is best, though I’ve seen some kids start earlier with good teachers through a program called ISR (more info). Even with all this, kids are kids – stay safe and use your discretion wisely when they are in a potentially dangerous situation
