The Flash season 4, episode 20 synopsis: Therefore She Is

The Thinker’s wife seems like she might be front and center this week, and a hero/love interest returns from another world in “Therefore She Is.”

As The Flash season 4 makes the turn and heads for home (sorry, Kentucky Derby coming up and everything), one of the more interesting subplots has been the relationship between The Thinker and his wife. Mrs. DeVoe has been all over the spectrum, going from total devotion to wavering suspicion to fear and back.

She recently ran afoul of the Thinker again by … loving him too much, for lack of a better way to put it. He stopped drugging her with the Weeper’s tears and soon ended up regretting it since she saw his return to his original appearance — courtesy of Ralph Dibny’s Elongated Man powers — as a sign that their love would rekindle in full.

Even though that doesn’t seem to be the case at all, she’s making the Tammy Wynette-esque choice to stand by her man. We’re presuming that the title of this week’s new episode, “Therefore She Is,” refers to her, but The Flash has thrown us curveballs with its episode names before.

Here’s a look at the official synopsis for this week’s episode, courtesy of ComingSoon.net:

GYPSY RETURNS – Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash team up with Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho) to try to thwart Thinker’s plan. Meanwhile, Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Gypsy have a heart to heart talk about their relationship.

It’s about time Gypsy made another appearance, since the status of her relationship with Vibe has been an ongoing subplot even though she hasn’t been on Earth-1 in a bit. She could bring up her dad’s offer to Cisco to take his place as Breacher, something we haven’t heard him answer yet.

On top of that, pictures and promos for “Therefore She Is” have shown Team Flash gearing up for another physical confrontation with the Thinker, though we can be reasonably sure it won’t be the last once since there are three more episodes in season 4 after this week. The status of Caitlin Snow should also be worth a scene or two, since she now knows her Killer Frost powers aren’t gone forever, just unavailable for some reason. Good thing Team Flash is full of brainy types …
