Viewers will be in for a treat this 2018 X Games Norway when they tune in to the women’s ski big air competition.
The competition, which touches down in Norway on Friday, May 18 (women’s big air will be held the following day) will feature a showdown between eight women representing a total of six countries. Take a look at the line-up below, which includes one American.
Women’s Ski Big Air Line-up
- Jennie-Lee Burmansson (SWE)
- Giulia Tanno (SUI)
- Sarah Hoefflin (SUI)
- Tiril Sjaastad Christiansen (NOR)
- Johanne Killi (NOR)
- Maggie Voisin (USA)
- Dominique Ohaco (CHI)
- Zuzana Stromkova (SVK)
The sole representative of the United States, Maggie Voisin, may be familiar to some as she appeared in the Winter Olympics this year in Pyeongchang, South Korea, where she finished fourth in the women’s slopestyle, just behind Enni Rukajärvi of Finland who took the bronze medal.
Voisin was meant to attend the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, but broke her ankle during a training run, and was unable to compete. If she had, she would have become the youngest woman to compete at just 15 years old.
She competed in the 2017 X Games, where she came in third in the competition. Other career highlights include taking ninth place in the 2017 FIS World Cup Standings (slopestyle), sixth place in the 2016 FIS World Cup Standings (slopestyle) and second place in the 2014 X Games Aspen (slopestyle).
Other competitors to keep your eye on are Norway’s Tiril Sjaastad Christiansen and Johanne Killi, who will be competing on their home turf.
